Jar City awarded the Breaking Waves Award
Jar City was today awarded the Breaking Waves Award at the 15th Titanic International Film Festival in Hungary. Baltasar walked off with the main prize and 10 thousand Euros to sweeten the victory. There were eight films competing in the film’s Elements of Crime section of the festival, but in all 65 films were shown during the festival.
According to the international jury of three Jar City collected the important cinematic elements such as remarkable characters, message, national flare, original approach and characteristic visuality. „Jar City is a criminal story which does uniquely balance real and ironic look inside contemporary Island.” said the jury.
Jar City is going to be screened on April 14th in the Toldi cinema in Hungary.
